Feel like taking a leisurely canoe ride? Look no further than the Schuylkill River, where you'll see members of the Philadelphia Canoe Club gliding happy along throughout the Summer.
The Philadelphia Canoe Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to canoeing and kayaking in the Schuylkill, Tohickon and Delaware Rivers. You may even see dedicated members navigating the ocean waves in the nearby Atlantic!
First founded in 1905, the Philadelphia Canoe Club resides in Colony Castle, an original 18th-century stone mill located at the confluence of the Wissahickon Creek and Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park.
Today, members enjoy canoe and kayak lessons, races, banquets and even square dances! Visit Philadelphia Canoe Club to learn more.
