Unlike the other more formal Fairmount Park houses, Cedar Grove has a take-your-shoes-off-and-relax kind of atmosphere. What began as a summer cottage became the little house that grew. As five generations of owners erected additions, extensions, and innovations, (including an indoor bake oven and kitchen hot water boiler), Cedar Grove evolved into a meandering, comfortable family home.
Originally located in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood, it was relocated to Fairmount Park in the 1920s.
